Baggage Lifter
As dynamic and capable as a giraffe
Overcome heights safely and precisely. With its precise and efficient lifting unit, the B&F baggage lifter »Giraffe« performs a real show of strength - with ease! The conveyor element incorporated into the baggage lifter is lifted and lowered precisely using a lifting unit with two steel-reinforced tooth belts. This maintenance free lifting system has been tried and tested for decades. Between the two upper and lower end positions, any intermediate destinations can be reached. The light, but robust, box girder of the lifting masts, which is designed to be divisible in its height, forms the backbone of the baggage lifter with the guide rails. It is also possible to use it in flight baggage systems with a container system. An appropriate conveyor element is incorporated to do this.

Vertical Distributor

With a capacity of up to 2000 pieces of baggage per hour, strength and resilience are needed. The B&F vertical distributor »Puma« is used for the distribution and merging of baggage and general cargo between two or three levels. The belt conveyor incorporated into the vertical distributor is lifted and lowered using a lifting system with two steel-reinforced tooth belts. This maintenance-free lifting system has been tried and tested for decades. It is also possible to use it in flight baggage systems with a container system. The belt conveyor is replaced by an appropriate conveyor element for the purposes of this.

Sophisticated technology that has multiple talents and a capacity of up to 1450 pieces of baggage per hour. The B&F vertical diverter unit »Beaver« is used to distribute baggage or general cargo from a conveyor line or redirect a conveyor for reasons of redundancy. The flawless interplay between the supplying belt conveyor and vertical belt conveyor deflector belt with its swivel mechanism is decisive here. The vertical belt conveyer deflector is assembled above a standard belt conveyor with the appropriate gap.

Inclined Conveyor
Agile and delicate like a dragonfly
Unique and with the lightness of the dragonfly - this is how the B&F inclined conveyor »Dragonfly« works, quickly and safely overcoming any height difference. The inclined conveyor transports flight baggage directly to the passenger boarding bridge, meaning it can be used in direct proximity to the aircraft. Baggage or similar general cargo is either safely lifted onto the aircraft or lowered onto the apron. Staff must no longer carry the baggage up and down the sometimes wet or icy stairs in any weather.

It is exactly this construction - the design as an adjoining merge point - that can provide the fundamental advantage of operational safety. In the case of one strip being damaged, the system continues to work flawlessly. When connected to a belt deflector, the diagonal junction can also be used to transfer baggage at different angles.

Metering Belt
Dynamic and flexible like an ant
Whether straight, ascending or descending - the B&F metering belt »Ant/Q-Conveyor« transports flight baggage and general cargo on all conveyor routes. As a modular system, the belt conveyor can satisfy a huge range of requirements. The standard design includes the modules of head drive or mid drive, reversing station, standard tray, fitted tray and support or hanger. The junctions between the individual conveyors are equipped with individual junction plates. The tightening station on the head drives and reversing stations must be tightened from both sides in the basic system. The tightening station on the mid drives can be tightened on one side.

Here, it is important that a rapid and flawless procedure gives the passenger security, be it as a fixed design or as a telescopic design. Mammoth
With the strength and composure of a mammoth
The B&F bulky luggage sorting belt »MAMMOTH« is used in those places where bulky luggage is collected centrally from the various bulky luggage lines and prepared for inspection. As a special solution, it can be adjusted to a huge range of conditions, such as conveyor height, positioning of the control system, belt lengths, conveying direction or conveying speed. The heart of the sorting belt is formed by two plastic link conveyors, which are characterised by a very smooth and wear-resistant surface and have a far longer life span than roller tables which have been used before. The individual pieces of luggage are transported to a certain position by the electronic link conveyor and then manually pushed off in the direction of the conveyor. This procedure makes the work of personnel considerably easier.
